Clinical Applications

  • Helps in collagen formation

Collagen Factors provides targeted precursors and cofactors known to be involved in the biochemical processes that help support healthy connective tissue formation, cartilage and joints. This formulation contains a patented ingredient with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, free-form amino acids, key minerals and vitamin C.

Recommended Dose

Adults: Take 2 capsules a day with food a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health product. Avoid taking at bedtime. For beneficial effects on the knees and joints, use for a minimum of 3 months. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 3 months.

Hyaluronic Acid Extract

Mobilee® is a patented, high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (HA), which supports the viscoelastic, lubricating properties of synovial fluid. In addition, it contains collagen and other glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) to help support skin and joint health.

Specific Precursors

Collagen is comprised of and formed from the amino acids proline and lysine. Lysine is an essential amino acid the body relies on adequate dietary intake for its involvement in the synthesis of connective tissues. Proline is well-known for its involvement in the triple helix of collagen—it is regularly spaced with glycine in the amino acid sequence of collagen fiber, which together comprise about 50% of total collagen sequencing.

Targeted Cofactors

Zinc is an essential trace mineral that supports immune function. Requirements are highest when the body’s repair system is most active. Manganese helps in the development and maintenance of bones. Nutritional co-factors that help support collagen formation include zinc, vitamin C and amino acids.

Formulations That Work

All Ortho Molecular Products are evidence-based. The most reliable evidence comes in the form of well-controlled human clinical trials, in populations demographically similar to our doctors’ patients, published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. This is the standard we are aiming for when we consider which ingredients to include in our formulas. However, we also honor the historical data of thousands of years of traditional use, as well as the direct observations of health care practitioners in clinical practice.

Raw Material Superiority

Equally important as which ingredients to include is which forms of ingredients to choose. After all, there can be tremendous variation in two ingredients both called CoQ10. At Ortho Molecular Products, we hold ourselves to a standard of raw material quality seldom seen in the supplement industry, and it starts with asking the right questions. For example, when evaluating a raw material, most companies’ first question is: How much does it cost? We ask: Does the ingredient match the specifications used in clinical studies? Is it bioavailable? Has it been tested for safety? What is its country of origin? Was it manufactured in a controlled facility? Simply stated, we do not use inferior raw materials. Ever.

Therapeutic Potency

Of course, even if you have chosen evidence-based ingredients and provided them in a superior form, the formula will not work if the dosages are too small. That’s why Ortho Molecular Products always include the right therapeutic dosing of each ingredient, based on established research. This approach is what separates good supplements from great supplements — formulas that truly help your patients get better faster. It is what drives efficacy and the reason we always formulate to the power of e.
