Actions/indications:
1. Restores depleted yang: yang collapse – profuse cold sweat, intolerance of cold,
feeble breathing, cold limbs, diarrhea with undigested food, feeble pulse
2. Tonifies yang, warms the fire: any types of yang deficiency – warms all organs and
opens all channels and collaterals.
3. Disperses cold and damp, warms the channels, relieve pain: wind-cold-damp-Bi,
menstrual pain, yin sores
Contraindication: during pregnancy, excess yang and yin def (false cold and true heat),
alcohol consumption. Use with caution if px is taking antiarrhythmic drugs (Pronestyl,
Norpace, Tambocor)
Note: Incompatible with Bei Mu, Gua Lou, Ban Xia, Bai Ji, Bai Lian
