Actions/indications:
1. Tonifies yang, augments Mingmen fire: disorders caused by insufficient Ki yang, and
Mingmen fire
2. Dispels cold, warms the Sp, relieves pain: epigastric, abdominal coldness and pain,
vomiting, diarrhea; hernial pain
3. Dispels cold, warms and unblocks the channels, alleviate pain: pain by coldness in the
channels such as gynecological disorders, cold-damp-Bi, yin sores
4. Promote the production of qi and blood
5. Lead the fire back to its source: upward floating of deficient yang
Contraindication: yin-deficient fire, excess heat, during preg, bleeding due to blood-heat
