DESCRIPTION
Calcium ᴅ‑glucarate is the calcium salt of ᴅ‑glucaric acid, a natural substance produced by the body in small amounts and that aids the liver in detoxification.
Calcium ᴅ‑glucarate is converted within the stomach to ᴅ‑glucaric acid, a powerful ally to detoxify and strengthen hepatic function. Once converted, it actively inhibits the action of an enzyme which contributes to many diseases. Its main mechanism of action is glucuronidation, a process where it binds to toxins both produced by body and from environmental exposure. This serves to detoxify the liver and enhance its performance for detoxifying and metabolizing potentially harmful compounds for excretion as bile.
