DESCRIPTION
Red-clover isoflavones are estrogen-like molecules that may mediate hormonal imbalances during menstruation and menopause.
New Roots Herbal’s Red Clover Isoflavones are standardized to contain a total of 24 mg of four standardized isoflavones—genistein, daidzein, formononetin, and biochanin—sourced from red clover (Trifolium pratense). These biologically active isolates are naturally occurring in red clover.
Isoflavones are phytoestrogens, which literally means “plant estrogens.” Isoflavones are similar in chemical structure to the body’s own estrogen and, when consumed, they can mimic some of the effects of estrogen to assist with regulating hormone prodution; this can be helpful with typical symptoms of PMS and menopause. Isoflavones, however, are weaker than our natural estrogen and are selective in their acts of estrogen to assist with managing both emotional and physical symptoms.
DIRECTIONS OF USE
Adult postmenopausal women:Â Take 3 capsules daily or as directed by your health-care practitioner.
Duration of use:Â Use for a minimum of 6 months to see beneficial effects. Consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 1 year.
WARNINGS
Contains no:Â Gluten, soy, wheat, corn, eggs, dairy, yeast, citrus, preservatives, artificial flavour or colour, starch, or sugar.
Cautions and warnings:Â Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are taking hormone replacement therapy, oral contraceptives, or anticoagulants; if you are taking thyroid hormone replacement therapy; if you have a liver disorder or develop liver-related symptoms (e.g. abdominal pain, jaundice, dark urine); or if you have a personal history of hormonal or gynecological disease including ovarian cancer, endometriosis and/or uterine fibroids. Do not use if you currently or previously have had breast cancer or if you have a predisposition to breast cancer such as abnormal mammogram and/or biopsy, or a family member with breast cancer. Before use, be sure you are up-to-date on appointed clinical tests such as mammograms and endometrial ultrasounds/biopsies. Discontinue use and consult a health-care practitioner if you experience breast pain, discomfort, soreness and/or tenderness, abnormal uterine bleeding including spotting and/or recurrence of menstruation in postmenopausal women.
Contraindications:Â Do not take if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
