Suggested Use
- For healthy mood balance – take 1 capsule, 3 times a day. Take with food. Use for a minimum of 1 week to see beneficial effects. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond one year.
- For relief of fibromyalgia symptoms – take 1 capsule, 3-4 times a day. Take with food. Use for a minimum of 2 weeks to see beneficial effects. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond one year.
- For migraine prophylaxis – take 1-2 capsules, 2-3 times a day. Take with food. Use for a minimum of 2-3 weeks to see beneficial effects. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 6 months if taking >400 mg per day.
- For weight management – take 3 capsules, 3 times a day. Take 30 minutes prior to a meal. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 12 weeks.
- As a sleep aid – take 1-2 capsules, 30-45 minutes before bedtime.
- To minimize the risk of GI side effects, start dosing at 100 mg, 2-3 times per day and slowly increase to effective dose over 2 week period.
Caution
- Sleep aid: consult a health care practitioner if sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 3 weeks.
- Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen.
- Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; or if you are taking carbidopa or drugs/supplements with serotonergic activity (these may include, but are not limited to, L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John’s wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over the counter cough and cold medication containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea medication and anti-migraine medication).
- Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcers, or abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle pain or if you experience skin changes.
