Suggested Use

Adults: Take 5 capsules twice daily or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Effects observed 12–24 hours after first dose and may take 2–3 days. For each gram of psyllium, take with 30 ml of liquid (water, milk, fruit juice, or similar aqueous beverage). Stir briskly and drink immediately. Maintain adequate fluid intake. If you are taking other medications, take this product 2 hours before or after taking them.

Cautions and warnings: Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you have an autoimmune disorder, a kidney disorder, blood pressure problems, or a progressive systemic disease such as tuberculosis, leukosis, collagenosis, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, or HIV infection; if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever (as these could be signs of abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the oesophagus and/or the superior opening of the stomach [cardia], potential or existing intestinal blockage, paralysis of the intestine, megacolon, fecal impaction, inflamed bowel or appendicitis); or if you are taking immunosuppressants, hormone replacement therapy, oral contraceptives, blood thinners, herbs containing tannins, protease inhibitors, or medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g. opioids, loperamide). Consult a health-care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen, or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days. Consult a health-care practitioner immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product. Consumption of goldenseal with alcohol, other medications, and/or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended.
Contraindications: Do not use if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or have difficulty swallowing; if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate; if you are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate following the use of another laxative product; if you have a liver disorder or if liver function is impaired; if you are taking acetaminophen (e.g. Tylenol) or anticoagulants; if you have fever or suffer from a febrile disorder; or if you have an allergy to the Asteraceae/Compositae (daisy) family. For adult use only.
Known adverse reactions: Hypersensitivity/allergy is known to occur; in which case, discontinue use. May cause temporary gas, bloating, or other gastrointestinal discomfort.
Important: Take 1 capsule of Ultimate Daily Probiotic (11 billion per capsule) each time.
